

She was born June 14, 1944, a daughter of the late Robert Austin and Eunice (Anderson) Smith.
Fay retired as a cashier from the former A & P Grocery Store in Waynesboro.
She was a devout Christian where she was a faithful member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, Missions Leader and helped feed many people in times of celebration and sorrow.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny Smith.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Jerry Coffey; a son, Travis Coffey and his wife, Debra; a daughter, Shon Coffey; a brother, James Smith; four grandchildren, Jerry Gillenwater, Sarah Chambers and husband, Drake, Troy Coffey, Devon Coffey and wife Delia: great grandson, Nate Gillenwater.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Paul Laprevotte officiating.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Ron Shifflett, Kenny Wilfong, Jan Jones, Donnie Wayne Coffey, Bruce Coffey and Drake Chambers.
The family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on the day of the service at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Women on Mission Fund of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church 901 Shenandoah Ave., Waynesboro, Va. 22980.
