Guy Herman Fix

Born September 8, 1943 in Rockbridge County, Va he was the son of the late Elmer and Estelle Fix.

Guy was a faithful member of Waynesboro Mennonite Church as long as his health permitted. In the last year he rededicated his life to the Lord and was a testimony to those around him; living each day of his life for the Lord. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served aboard the U.S.S. Compton during the Cuban Missile Crisis. As an avid sports fan, Guy enjoyed cheering on the Redskins, playing softball and shooting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Fix; brother, Thomas Fix; sister, Frances Tichenor.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Geraldine (Arnold) Fix; sister, Darlene Thompson; children, Debbie Berry and husband, Raymond, Susan Hanger and husband, Tom, Jeffrey A. Fix, Sr. and fiancé, Diana Sundance, Jeremey Fix and wife, Lisa and Scott Fix and wife, Ashley Nicely-Fix; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Waynesboro Mennonite Church with Pastor Howard Miller and Pastor Earl Monroe officiating. Burial will follow in Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 340.

Active pallbearers will be Gary Demastus, Kim Fix, Jimmy Fitzgerald, Shawn Armstrong, Mark Glover and Dr. Dennis Hatter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Keith and Sonny Norvell, Tommy Baldwin, Richard Morris, Butch Nazelrod, Jamey Tharp, Glenn Eckel, Paul Truslow, John Hailey, Bob Seddarth, Larry Kennedy and Jim Meeks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
