

Born June 29, 1936 in Fordwick, VA, he was the son of the late James E. and Martha (Sensabaugh) Gregory. On August 18, 1962 he married Donna Sue Worley. The two shared 63 wonderful years of marriage together.
Prior to retirement, Jim was employed by the former E.I. DuPont Company where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a faithful member of Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren, Waynesboro. Jim was best known for his passion for restoring and rebuilding classic cars from the ground up. With remarkable skill, patience, and attention to detail, he brought new life to antique automobiles, preserving their history and beauty. He was a proud member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, participating in the Waynesboro–Staunton Region as well as the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Vintage Motor Car Club of America. He will be remembered as a loving husband and devoted father.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Keith.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sue Gregory of Waynesboro; son, Scott Gregory and wife, Patty, of NC; special niece, Rena Rines; sister-in-law, Nancy Smith; brother-in-law, Jim Worley and wife, Linda of VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro with Pastor Mike Woods officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren, 19 Brown’s Lane, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
