James David Martin, Jr.

James David “Jim” Martin, Jr., 84, of Afton passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Accordius Nursing Home in Waynesboro.
He was born on October 26, 1934, a son of the late James David, Sr. and Dutches (Witt) Martin.
Jim proudly served in the United States Army. He worked for many years with Acme in Crozet. James was a member of Rockfish Presbyterian Church in Afton. Working in his flower garden was one of his favorite hobbies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Little) Martin and his friend, Frankie Brooks.
Survivors include his son, James Mark Martin; grandsons, David V. and John R. Martin; great grandchildren, Harper and Gauge Martin; brother, William Wayne Martin; as well as extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Rockfish Presbyterian Church, 5016 Rockfish Valley Highway, Nellysford, with Rev. Louie V. Andrews, III officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
