
Jean Miller Kennedy, 89, of Waynesboro gained her angel wings on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at her home. She was born June 08, 1933 in Afton, a daughter of the late John Scott Miller and Dolly Ann Phillips Miller.
Jean loved her family and gave of herself unselfishly her entire life. She loved to give to them and help them with all she had. Jean loved yard work, whether it was planting flowers or maintaining her beautiful yard. She was a woman of many talents, including sewing, crocheting, assembling jigsaw puzzles for framed artwork, and plants of all kinds.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John McKinley Kennedy, Sr.; a grandson, Joshua Chad Kennedy; and a daughter-in-law, Linda M. Kennedy. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Carwile of Suffolk, VA and Ruth Kennedy of Afton, VA.
Surviving are her two sons, John M. Kennedy, Jr. (JK) and Danny Ray Kennedy and his wife Elaine Kennedy, both of Afton; one daughter, Deborah Jean Roberts and her husband, Rick Roberts of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Jason Kennedy, Dusty Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy, Danielle Kennedy, and Jennifer Mitchell; two step-grandchildren, Rick Proctor and Stephen Proctor; nine great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren; brother, William Scott Miller and his wife Margueritte of Afton; and sister, Joyce Mejia and her husband Juan of Afton.
Following cremation, a private family graveside service will be held at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery, Afton.
