JoAnn Ellinger

JoAnn Reid Ellinger, 75 of Lyndhurst, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Waynesboro on March 13, 1940, a daughter of the late Della May (Pforr) and Hugh Gordon Reid.

JoAnn was devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of 57 years. She was employed for many years as a Food Service Worker at Stuarts Draft Middle School. JoAnn was a loving mother to her children and a loving MeMe her grandchildren and great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Donald Ellinger; a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Ellinger; a brother and a sister.

Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Ellinger and his wife, Julie of Lyndhurst; a daughter, Sonia Ellinger of Lyndhurst; a son, Mark Ellinger and his wife, Susan of Fishersville; four grandchildren, Christopher Ellinger and his wife, Nicole, Ashlee Ellinger, Peyton Ellinger, and Lucas Ellinger; a great grandson, Noah Ellinger.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to JoAnn’s Fellow church members at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the staff at Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for their loving prayers and care.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Rolo B. Castillo officiating.

Active Pallbearers includes Christopher Ellinger, Bill Waggy, Ray Carwell, Josh Biser, John Apesa, and Tony Shifflett.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
