Kenneth Dean Almarode

Born January 3, 1954 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Carl K. and Effie Virginia (Pforr) Almarode.

Kenny was a wonderful father, husband and grandfather. He was always willing to help anyone, especially his grandchildren. He would have given the shirt off his back to help those in need. Kenny attended Stuarts Draft Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Stuarts Draft High School Class of 1972. Kenny had previously been employed at NIBCO, Wayn-Tex, and prior to retirement in 2020 had worked at Danone in Mt. Crawford. Kenny loved fishing, hunting, and most of all spending time with his 11 grandchildren. He was an avid Redskins fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Marvin and Betty Steele.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Linda S. Almarode of Lyndhurst; two daughters, Janice Almarode Searwar (Simeon) of Lynchburg and Stephanie Almarode Berry (Chad) of Sherando; grandchildren, Hannah, Sage, Rachel, Josh, Shasta, Uriah, Silas, Keziah, and Tali Searwar, and Chris and Daniel Berry; sister, Nancy McKemy of Lyndhurst; brother, David Almarode of Sherando; brother-in-law, Lynn Steele (Toni) of Waynesboro; two nieces, Melissa Burwell and Ashley Scott; and one nephew, Dustin Fitzgerald.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Stuarts Draft Baptist Church, 2517 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Stuarts Draft Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.

Active pallbearers will be Chad Berry, Chris Berry, Daniel Berry, Simeon Searwar, Josh Searwar, and Shasta Searwar.

Memorial contributions may be made to Stuarts Draft Baptist Church.
