Lucille Claytor Morris

Born Sunday, May 13, 1928 in Harriston, VA, she was the daughter of the late John and Edna Morris Claytor.

Mrs. Morris and her late husband Raymond D. Morris (“R.D.”) were owners of the Waynesboro North 340 Campground. She was the mother of three children. She attended and was saved at Wayside Baptist Church. She loved her home, her children and the campground.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, R.D. Morris; brother, Warren Claytor; sisters, Gladys McCauley, Madeline McCauley and Judy Claytor; special niece, Juanita Fletcher.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara M. Terrell and husband Eddie and Darlene “Vickie” Moxie and husband Chuck all of Waynesboro; son, R.D. Morris, Jr.( “Ricky”) and wife Carolyn of Staunton; sister, Cecil Arey of Waynesboro; two granddaughters, Melissa Burnett and husband John and Ivy Tally; grandson, Ashley Kindig and wife Lori; seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and John-Mark Burnett, Jadeyln, Kia and Ryder Tally and Bre and Cole Kindig.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January, 21, 2012 at Wayside Baptist Church, with Pastors Jerry Cline and Randy Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be John-Mark Burnett, Ashley Kindig, Allen Morris, Jerry Diehl, Wayne Tillman, Freddy Day and John Burnett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doris Clark, Stacey Quintana, Paul Chatham, Christine Crawford, Buddy and Jean Saunders, Vickie Snell, Gloria Wright, Lillian Henderson, Frank and Linda Peterson, Judy Rovelli and Jeff Barnes.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main Street.

The family would like to thank all of her loving caregivers and the staff of Shenandoah Nursing Home.
