

He was born September 16, 1942, a son of the late Junie Edward and Elizabeth (Fauver) Monroe.
He was a United States Naval Veteran having served a tour in Vietnam and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a former employee of General Electric, Genicom and CII Technologies in Asheville, N.C.
Malcolm was a member of Sherando Community Church.
He served as a volunteer at Augusta Health Hospital. He enjoyed fishing at Nags Head , hunting and most of all being with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip Walker Monroe, Robert Hunter Monroe; two sisters, Juanita Green and June Audrey Rhodes.
Survivors include his wife, Paula (Nulty) Monroe; sons, Jason Monroe and Matthew Sutton (Angela), Steve Sutton (Laura); grandchildren, Jared Woodie, Hannah Sutton, Madi Sutton, Sam Sutton, Abe Sutton and a special niece Karen Monroe.
He also leaves a number of nieces and nephews.
Following cremation a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Sherando Community Church with Pastors Billy Coffey and Earl Monroe officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and Crematory.
