Mary Frances Brooks

Mary Frances (Clark) Brooks, 80, of Waynesboro, passed away on Thursday July 4, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Brooks was born on July 30, 1932 in Marion, VA and was a daughter of the late Tom and Mary (Widener) Clark. She retired from Stanley Furniture where she worked for many years. Mary Frances also attended Faith Worship Center in Stuarts Draft. She was a caring person who was always there to lend a helping hand. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many who will greatly miss her.

Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alexander Brooks on February 11, 1994.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Patricia Berry and husband Jeffery of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Mary Plecker, Adam Berry, Phyllis Hurr; seven great-grandchildren, Spencer Plecker, Christopher Plecker, Cheyenne Gilmore, Abigail Gilmore, Jeffery Berry, Benjamin Berry, Natalie Hurr; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brooks was also preceded in death by three brothers, George Clark, Charles Clark, William Clark; and three sisters, Stella Shaffer, Juanita Via, and Edith Henderson.

The family would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to the doctors, nurses, caregivers, and to the staff of Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for their care during her illness.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday July 7, 2013 at 3 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, with Rev. Dennis Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 until 3 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
