

She was born September 1, 1930 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Newton Hunter and Mary Lovey Sprouse.
Mrs. Chrisman was a graduate of Craigsville High School, a member of the Lyndhurst United Methodist Church and retired from Virginia Panel.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Newton Chrisman, brothers; Edward Calvin Sprouse, William Sprouse, Richard Sprouse, James Sprouse, sisters; Pauline M. Thomas, Hattie V. Broughman, Margaret E. McCauley, Fleta V. Sprouse, and a grandson, Shawn Balser.
Survivors include her children; Richard Hunter Balser and wife Gloria of Stuarts Draft, Gary Wayne Balser of Hillsville, Warren Lee Chrisman of Charlottesville, Karen Sue Chrisman, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Oak Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Simmons officiating.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lyndhurst United Methodist Church, P O Box 317 Lyndhurst, VA 22952.
