Mary Kreitzer Fretwell

Born March 1, 1924, in Bowie, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William Conrad and Bessie Mae (Painter) Kreitzer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen R. Fretwell of Stuarts Draft; children, Joyce Fretwell, Katherine Evans and Violet "Rie" Clark; great-grandson, Mark Dasovich; siblings, Dorothy Bailey, Dayton Kreitzer, Violet Bienkowski, Chester Kreitzer, Linda Kreitzer, William Kreitzer and Margret “Peggy” Lunsford.

Mrs. Fretwell is survived by her loving children, Linda Balsley and husband Paul, Bessie Crawford, Suzanne Gutt and husband Phil, Wanda Munro and husband Ed, Allen R. Fretwell, Jr. and wife Barbara Ann, Julia Painter and husband Paul and Steven L. Fretwell, Sr. and wife Mellisa; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Louis Kreitzer and Katherine Beck.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, with Chaplain Mark Westebbe officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Manny Balsley, Edward Balsley, Jim Evans, Tony Evans, Chris Gutt, Jeff Gutt, Shawn Armstrong, Steven Fretwell, Jr., Allen R. Fretwell, III and Clinton Painter.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the funeral home.
