Pauline Amanda (McDaniel) Fry

Born January 3, 1945 in Waynesboro; she was the daughter of the late Tazewell Columbus and Mattie Pauline (Simpson) McDaniel. On May 21, 1993 she married the love of her life, Robert Fry. The two shared a blessed union of 21 years.

Mrs. Fry was a member of the West Waynesboro Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. A woman of great faith, she enjoyed spreading the message of hope and the resurrection of Jesus Christ through what is known as field service. She was employed with DuPont where she worked as an operator until her retirement. Pauline loved to entertain at her home, especially out by the pool and working on crafts. She took great pride and joy in her grandchildren and loved them unconditionally.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Mary Ann Fry; father-in-law, Mervin Fry; brothers, Ray and Johnny McDaniel; sister, Virginia “Skookie” (McDaniel) Rathbun; brother-in-law, Dennis Benson.

In addition to her loving husband, survivors include her children, Cara (Purvis) Moore and husband, Jeffrey of Waynesboro and Shea Purvis of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Carter, Mattie and Jared Moore and Brady Louk; siblings, Taze McDaniel, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Waynesboro and Mary Anna Benson of Ashland, VA; sister-in-law, Anita Wilcher and husband, Melvin of Churchville; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Joe Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff Moore, Carter Moore, Jared Moore, Brady Louk, Mark Louk and Lee Louk.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the funeral home.
