

Phillip was born in Sarasota, FL, to Mary K. Case and Donald Case on January 26th, 1970. Phillip’s background was in avionics repair but most recently, was acting as a technician repairing medical equipment. Phillip was a dedicated family man, who loved cooking and eating with his loved ones. He was a well-read student of philosophy, history and politics, and was always hungry to learn more. He was affectionately known as "Google Dad" since he knew everything, or could figure it out if he didn’t immediately know. He also loved being outdoors and enjoyed practicing historical skills like blacksmithing and bush craft. He was a lifetime member of the Wilson Fire Department, and a longtime member of Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship church.
In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Martha Swartz and uncle, Dennis Swartz.
Phillip is survived by his beloved children, Dylan Case of Staunton, Catherine Case and husband Travis Hudson of Staunton, and Logan Case of Lyndhurst; as well as his grandchildren, Chloe, Emelia, Cadence and Devan. He is also survived by a sister, Cathy Kotlewski and husband Mark; his aunt, Joyce Showalter; uncle, John Swartz; cousins, Jeff Swartz, Darlene Koblick, Bruce Swartz, Nancy Stoll, J.R. Showalter, John T. Swartz, and Kent Swartz. In addition, Phillip is survived by his friends, Jenn Byrd, Ray Plank and wife Suzy, Joe Young, Fai Cheung, Dean Borghi, Andy Egili, Chad Frey, Mark Engle and Phil Gaertner. Lastly, he is survived by his feline sidekicks, Luke and B.E.
Following cremation, the family will be holding a Celebration of Life service at Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship church on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Bruce Swartz officiating.
