

Born May 10, 1921 in Hunting Ground, WV, he was the son of the late Harmon H. and Etta (Warner) Sponaugle.
Roscoe was a member of Church of the Blue Ridge, Afton. He was employed by Covey’s TV & Satellite Service in Charlottesville for many years where he worked as a TV Technician until his retirement. Prior to working at Covey’s, he previously farmed. Roscoe served on the Board of Directors at Pendleton Bank in WV and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was an accomplished pilot and was multi-talented in the fact he could fix almost anything. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 13 siblings.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Phyllis Marsh Sponaugle; his first wife, Judith Bland Sponaugle; daughters, Sandra Boggs and husband, Donald of Chattanooga, TN and Peggy Waldron of Midlothian, VA; step-children, Gary Marsh of Greenwood and Sandra Via and husband, Tracy of Greenwood; sister, Idelta Lambert of WV; grandchildren, Roderick Boggs and wife, Lori, Derek Boggs and wife, Alexandra, Tracy Waldron, Krystle Waldron and husband, Cole Johnson, Carlin Via Dorrier and husband, David, Kendall Via, Tiffany Wade, Shaina Rhodes and Caleb Reid and wife, Jennifer; great grandchildren, Morgan Dorrier, Macie Dorrier, Matthew Boggs, Lauren Boggs, George Boggs, James Boggs, Harlan Boggs, Wyatt, Madeline, Marilyn, Carleigh and six others; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St. Burial will follow in Monticello Memory Gardens, Charlottesville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the funeral home.
