Ruth Curtis

Born Ruth Gossler in Selbitz, Germany, she married Jerry Curtis in 1968 and moved to the United States soon after his discharge from the U.S. Air Force, settling in Virginia to be near her beloved sisters and their growing families. Ruth became a naturalized citizen of the United States on February 22, 1985.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Karl Heinrich and Johanna Wurzbacher Gossler of Selbitz; sisters Anneliese Noia, Helga Ripani, and Brunhilde Schrepfer; uncles Hans and Richard Faerber; nephew Peter Schrepfer; and niece Johanna Noia Mace. She is survived by her husband Jerry Curtis, daughter Deborah Curtis, son Wilhelm Heibl III, brother Karl-Heinz Gossler (Ursula), cousin Lydia Strobel, and many extended family and friends in the U.S. and Germany.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Waynesboro.

The family appreciates privacy at this time.
