

She was born August 12,1928 in Richmond, Va., to the late James and Hattie Priddy.
On December 24,1943, she married the love of her life, Dennis V. Sandridge, Jr. and until his death in 2004 they shared 61 blessed years raising their family of five children.
For several years she worked for E. I. Dupont and later for Genicom where she retired in 1989.
After retirement she worked several years in the cafeteria at the Waynesboro High School and later volunteered at the Waynesboro Senior Center.
Shirley was a faithful member of Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Steele; sister-in-law, Dreama McDaniel; daughter, Robin Michelle Shifflett; grandson, Phillip J. Sandridge, Jr. and a niece, Linda McDaniel.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Frank) Roetto, Diane (Dennis Bell) Dennis III (Donna) Sandridge and Phillip, Sr. (Susan) Sandridge; sister-in-law, Nancy (Taze) McDaniel; brother-in-law, Lloyd David McDaniel all of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, Debbie Sandridge, Lacey Bell, Shawn Fitzgerald, Brian Fitzgerald, Neil (Megan) Sandridge, Chris (Kim) Shiflett; 16 great grandchildren, Betty (Elliot), Dwayne, Christian (Heather), Zachary (Anne), Angelina, Emma, Gabriel, Jakob, Noah, Walker, Beckley, Payton, Dalton, Waylon, Kailey, Grace; nieces and nephews, J.C. (Sherri) of Florida, William Steele of Virginia Beach, Eddie Steele of Virginia Beach, Donald Ray Steele of Waynesboro, T.C. McDaniel, Derek McDaniel, Tina McDaniel, Davy McDaniel, Trina McDaniel, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren with Pastor Mike Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Frank Roetto, Dalton Sandridge, Waylon Sandridge, Neil Sandridge, Brian Fitzgerald and Shawn Fitzgerald.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and other times at the residence of Linda and Frank Roetto of 41 Greystone Lane, Waynesboro, Va.
