William "W.R." Hudlow, Jr.

He was born February 29, 1956 in Augusta County, first born of the late William “Bill” Hudlow, Sr., and Gwendolyn June (Hensley) Hudlow, both of which preceded him in death.

He was blessed to grow up with two siblings, brother, Michael James Hudlow; sister, Violet Marie Hudlow, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was a hardworking man, dedicated to providing for his family. An easy life by no means he was full of love, laughter and resilience. He spent the last years of his life making sure “his girls” knew how loved they were and that he was there for whatever they needed. As much as he doted on his girls, nothing made him prouder than his three beautiful grandchildren.

Left to carry on his legacy is his youngest daughter, Melissa (Hudlow) Via of Crimora, who spent every moment of his last days making sure he never suffered and he knew how much he was loved, his oldest daughter, Christina Marie (Hudlow) Wallis and husband, Casey of Crimora; grandchildren, Rylie Violet-Fawn Wallis, Ella Grace Smiley, Charlotte Elizabeth Via; as well as many friends and extended family.

He was compassionate, loving, caring, stubborn and hilarious. He loved working on cars, watching NASCAR, spending time with his family, visiting friends around town, and lending a hand when he could.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro with Pastor Tom Quick officiating. Burial of his ashes to follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the funeral home.
