

On August 19, 1966, he married his childhood sweetheart, Frances Perry and they celebrated 59 years of marriage together. They raised two daughters Stephanie (Jon) Wilke and Rebecca (fiancé Jack Tennant) Bradberry. A joy in his life was his twin granddaughters Madison and Seneca Bradberry.
Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Martha Hawk and his brother Ray Hardy. Surviving are several nieces and nephew.
Jerry was a member of the Oak View Methodist Church and served on the Worship Committee while able.
He was born on a snowy night January 3, 1945, the son of the late Mary Stitt Hardy and Paul Hardy of Rimersburg, Pennsylvania.
Jerry graduated from Union Joint High School and then attended West Virginia University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Science. He was employed by the Central Greene School District as an Earth Science –Physics teacher for 34 years. He loved teaching and made many lifelong friends through his career. He was the school photographer, sponsored the Camera Club, the National Honor Society, and worked with Susan Cleavenger to produce the Oracle (the high school yearbook) for many years. He assisted in the production of many high school plays in charge of the stage crew (Slip Shod Construction). He was honored as a Distinguished Teacher in 1993 and attended the ceremony at the White House.
Jerry was active in the community serving as 4H Rabbit Club Leader, organizing the Greene County Photography Club and serving on the Franklin Township Sewer Authority.
One of his many hobbies was wood working and he and his friend Jack Cummins made several pieces of furniture for family and friends. He also spent many summers working for Rick Cummins pouring concrete for local people.
The publishing of the book, Greene from the Blue, a book of aerial photography was a source of accomplishment and pride. He spent many enjoyable hours flying and taking photos from a Piper Cub.
He was noted and became well known as the “ice man” serving shaved ice in the neighborhood.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their care for Jerry through his illness. A special thanks to Emmie Harding, Jessica Kesner, and Rhonda Kincer for their care and friendship.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
