Katherine L. "Kay" Mitchell

Katherine L. "Kay" Mitchell, 83, of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania passed away at 7:20 AM on Sunday, January 12, 2025 in Southmont Presbyterian Home, Washington, PA. She was born on September 5, 1941 in Marianna, PA, a daughter of the late Isaac L. McCullough and Marie Wise McCullough. She was a longtime resident of Greene County. She was a graduate of Waynesburg High School. Kay belonged to and was a family leader for the Alzheimer's Association Support Group S/W Chapter for many years, as well as a member of the Morgan Township Farm Women's Group. She worked at Brockway Glass Manufacturing Plant in Washington, PA and was a Private Caregiver in Greene County for several families. With her husband Robert she owned and operated Mitchell's Mini Golf for many years, and she was also a homemaker. Her Husband: Robert S. Mitchell passed away in 1993. Surviving are 2 Daughters: Carla Martin and Darla Zarlino, 1 Son: Steven Martin and his companion Michelle, 3 Grandchildren: Steven Riggleman, Raven Martin, Donald Zarlino III, 1 Stepdaughter: Darla "Dee" (Nelson) Krute, 3 Stepsons: Robert Eugene (Sandy) Mitchell, Jack (Pam) Mitchell, Timothy (Gwen) Mitchell and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Deceased: 1 Son- Rex L. Martin, 2 Sisters- Mary McCullough and Laura Ruth Miller, 1 Brother- William "Jack" McCullough and 1 Step Daughter- Shelva Mansberry. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 197 N. Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370 Shane M. Ayers, Director with her funeral service being held at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville, PA 15359.
