Mary R. Zollars

Mary R. Zollars, 89, of Waynesburg, PA passed away at 6:50 AM on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born June 11, 1935 in Washington, PA, a daughter of the late Willis Ramsey and Lorna Wolff Ramsey. Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waynesburg, PA. She was very involved with the Waynesburg Hospital Auxiliary, the Eva K. Bowlby Public Library, the Retired Teachers Association and an avid supporter of the Greene County Humane Society. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband Jim. Mary loved cats, playing Bridge, gardening and painting. Mary was an elementary school teacher, and touched many lives during all of her years teaching Kindergarten. Her Husband: James R. "Jim" Zollars, whom she married on Sept. 25, 1954 died on December 17, 2019. Surviving are 2 Daughters: Debra (A.J.) Grieneisen of Carlisle, PA, MaryJane (Chris) Vandegrift of Milford, OH, 3 Sons: Scott (Donise) Zollars of Hickory, PA, Kirk (Letha) Zollars of Carmichaels, PA and Jeffrey Zollars and Jay Burcik of Amity, PA, 14 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased: 1 Son- Bryan Lane Zollars, 1 Sister- Rebecca Troutman and 2 Brothers- David and Leslie Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, PA 15370 Shane M. Ayers-Director with her funeral service being held at 1:00 PM with Rev. William Parker officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, PA 15370 The family suggest memorials be made to The Greene County Health and Wellness Foundation, 7 E.
