Born in Morgantown on June 25,1927, he was the third son of nine children of the
late William A. and Lena Grose Vorbach.
Bob served in the Air Force during World War II and was stationed in Naha,
Okinawa, a stopover and refueling station for military aircraft.
After the war, he returned to Morgantown for a short period of time, but did not
like the cold weather. He headed for Florida, marrying Kay on the way South.
They built a home in Orlando where they lived for over 60 years, even after his
retirement from the Chevron Corporation.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Katherine Pauza Vorbach and eight siblings
M. Jack Vorbach of Romney, WV, William A. Vorbach, J r . (Irene) of Ripley, WV,
Joseph P. (Betty) Vorbach of Morgantown, Bonnie Mattingly (James) of Bridgeport,
WV, David A. Vorbach (Beverly) of Zellwood, FL, Twila Carra (Joseph) of
Edgewater, FL, Shonet McClung (James) of Morgantown, Sharon Sutton of Palmyra,
VA. And several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bob lived to help others no matter what their needs. He was loved by all and will
always be in our hearts.
At Bob's request, cremation has been performed, and there will be no public
service. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
