

He was born Sunday, September 20, 1931 in Bobtown,PA. A son of the late Simon Hillen and Hazel Bates Hillen.
Mr. Hillen was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Waynesburg. He was a Veteran having served for 20 years with the United States Airforce serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching and all outdoor activities. After his military career he worked for Greenwood Oil as a truck driver. He then worked as a maintenance man for Waynesburg University. He also drove school bus for several years.
He is survived by his Wife: Maggie J. Bates Hillen, whom he married on June 25, 1955.
Also surviving are 4 Daughters: Rhonda (John) Stewart, of Georgetown, PA., Patricia (Blaine) Martin, of Soldotna, AK.,
Lisa Eddy, of Waynesburg, PA., and C. Sue (George) Hillen-Jones, of Moon Twp., PA., 1 Son: John (Laurie) Hillen, Hanover Twp., PA., 14 Grandchildren and 34 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family.
Deceased are 2 Sisters: Bernice Everly and Marjorie Poole, 2 Brothers: Harold Hillen and Charles Hillen
Friends will be received from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM the time of the servie on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in the Milliken and Throckmorton FH, Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director,197 N. Maiden St Waynesburg, PA 15370 with Rev.John Poling officiating. Burial will be in Greene Co. Memorial Park, Morgan Twp., Greene County, PA. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the James Farrrell American Legion Post #330 of Waynesburg and Representatives of the United States Airforce. The family ask that memorials be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver,1000 Dutch Ridge Road Tower B, Beaver, PA. 15009.
