Barbara Nell Bryson Freeman, age 83, passed away on November 14, 2025. Barbara was born in Sylva, NC on July 14, 1942, to the late Hubert Clingman and Nellie June McDonald Bryson.
Barbara was a nurse at Haywood County Hospital, retiring as a nursing supervisor after over 30 years. She was also a Disaster Relief Coordinator with the American Red Cross.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Howell Freeman, Jr.; son Greg Freeman; brother, Kenny George Bryson; and sisters, Carol Hope Allen and Judy Kay Parris.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 18, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend John Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
