

Charles Andy Ferguson, 88 of Lake Junaluska, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2016 at Mission Hospital. He was born in Haywood County on December 28, 1927 to the late Andrew McKinley and Ida Mae McElroy Ferguson and was one of twelve children.
Charles was a US Army Veteran, serving his country during the Korean War. He retired from Dayco Industries. He was a part time tobacco and cattle farmer. He was a member of Long’s Chapel United Methodist Church and loved his Dugan/Lundy Sunday School class. He enjoyed traveling, especially frequent trips to Hawaii and traveling throughout the United States. Most importantly, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family and his cat, Maui.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, brother, John R. Ferguson; sisters, Sara Lee Green and Bennie Underwood.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 63 years, Claudia Crawford Ferguson; sons, Mike Ferguson and wife Sue, Jeff Ferguson and wife Jodie; daughters, Cindy Krauss and husband Hunter, Beth Lewallen and husband Randall; siblings, Carlyle Ferguson, Margaret Williams, Betty Moody, Helen Davis, Ruth Presnell, Annette Best, Maxine Bradshaw, and Irene Noland; eight grandchildren, Lindsey Curley, Ryan Ferguson, Drew Ferguson, Kellie Ferguson, Dylan Krauss, Ethan Krauss, Chadd Lewallen and Seth Lewallen.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Long’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles (Chuck) W. Wilson, II and Reverend Tim McConnell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, January 8, 2016 at Garrett Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Dawn Memory Gardens in Crabtree.
Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
