Jane Bernadine Smithwick Ray, age 90, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at Haywood Lodge and Retirement. She was born in Hyde County, NC to the late Cleve and Roberta Smithwick. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Avon Osceola Ray, Jr. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Cleve Ray and wife Margaret; daughter, Carolyn Smith and husband Brian; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
