Jeanne Thomson Phillips

Jeanne Thomson Phillips, age 90, of Waynesville, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023. Jeanne was born in Chicago, IL on November 28, 1932, to the late John and Dorothy Robillard Thomson. Jeanne resided in Miami, FL for over 60 years where she was a career teacher for the hearing impaired. Moving to Waynesville fulltime in 1995, Jeanne enjoyed her mountain home and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Phillips; son, Scott Thomson Phillips; and brother, Jack Thomson.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Maggie Phillips Nakamura (Bob), Jane Phillips Dix (Tommy), John Douglas Phillips (Courtney); grandchildren, John Flynt (Heather), Madelyn Dix, Julianna Dix, Kanoa Nakamura, Makani Nakamura, Sarah Phillips, Lucy Phillips, and Alice Phillips; great-grandchildren, Kate and Ellie Flynt; and brother, Doug Thomson.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 7, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Pastor Holly Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
