Joanie Lucille Devine

Joanie Lucille Devine, age 35 passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, after a lifelong courageous battle with cystinosis. Joanie was born on June 13, 1989 in Raleigh, NC. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed car shows. Joanie was feisty and a "free spirit" who would have felt at home in the 1960's. She was a very loving and caring person and was a "Mama's Girl."

Joanie is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather and grandmother, Reece "Ppa" and Rachel Cotten; and paternal, grandmother, Sara Atkinson.

Joanie is survived by her parents, William and Portia Cotten Devine; husband, David Keenan and his daughter, Trinity Ryan; father-in-law, David Keenan, Sr.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 16, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Rev. Dr. Mark Golden officiating.

In lieu flowers the family asks that donations be made to your local animal shelter or animal rescue.

Joanie will be remembered for her fight for life. She never gave up!
