Waynesville-Martha Sue Brain, age 85, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022. Martha was born on October 9, 1936, in Highlands, NC to the late James and Alice Calloway West. She enjoyed boating and hanging out with all of her friends and family. Martha was the proprietor on The Inn on Prospect Hill in Waynesville.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Brain; daughter, Susan Ann Wicks; and brother, Henry Lyle West.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Sandy Newman; stepson, Billy Brain; brother, James Harley West (Collette); and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice at 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
