Mary "Sue" Morgan

Lexington, SC - Mary "Sue" Morgan age 86, formerly of Asheville, NC went to her Heavenly Home on July 17, 2022 at Carolina Gardens of Lexington while surrounded by her loving children.

A native of Haywood County and past resident of Asheville, NC.

She was born March 19, 1936 as the first child to the late Robert Austin and Edna Burchfield Morgan and granddaughter to the late Ollie McClure Burchfield. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jane Morgan Smith and brother, Robert Donald Morgan.

She graduated from Waynesville Township High School and was employed for over 50 years as a bookkeeper for several companies in Haywood and Buncombe County.

Her life was dedicated to loving her family. She loved working in the yard and taking long scenic drives in her car. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need.

She is survived by her 4 children, Marty (Karen) Stamey of Canton, Debbie Stamey Murphy of Canton, Danny Stamey of Whitesville, NC and Barry (Donna) Stamey of Lexington, SC, brother, Kenneth (Audrey) Morgan of Waynesville, NC and 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A private family memorial service will be held August 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum in Waynesville, NC.
