Oneida Lee Jarrell

20 February, 193621 July, 2020

Waynesville-Oneida Lee Maynard Jarrell, 84 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. Oneida was born in Williamson, WV on February 20, 1936, to the late Haskell and Laura Trader Maynard. Oneida enjoyed reading, crafting, working puzzles and sewing. One of Oneida’s joys was spending time in the Bible. She was a church secretary for many years as well as the church pianist and was a caregiver in her later life. Oneida was a member of Calvary Road Baptist Church for over 20 years where she sang in the choir.

In addition to her parents, Oneida was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Luke Jarrell; and two brothers, Bud and David Maynard.

Oneida is survived by her son, Ken Jarrell (Tammy); her sister, Barbara Fredricks (Jim); grandchildren, Thomas Conard (Rayna), Colby Ramsey, of Waynesville, and Ashley Holt (Kyle) of Inman, SC; and great-granddaughter, Josie Scott, of Waynesville.

A Celebration of Oneida’s Life will be held at a later date at Jarrell Cemetery in Inez, KY, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Luke.

Psalm 103: 1-5 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Her greatest love was God, family, church, friends and community. Oneida touched so many lives and will be missed by all.
