Randy Carroll Evans

Randy Carroll Evans, age 70, of Maggie Valley, North Carolina passed away at home on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Randy was born in Haywood County, NC on October 3, 1953, to the late Robert Jr. and Rosemary Caldwell Evans. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding. Most of all, Randy loved spending time with his granddaughter, Madi Evans. Randy had special ministries including sitting with friends to lend an ear, preparing Samaritan's Purse shoeboxes, delivering meals with Shepherd's Table and going on mission trips abroad.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Randy was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jim McGaha.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Gwen McGaha Evans; son, John Mark Evans; granddaughter, Madi Evans; and his special mother-in-law, Grace Rich McGaha.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 10, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
