Willa Mae Mills of Waynesville, NC died February 9, 2016, at CarePartners Solace Hospice in Asheville, NC after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Willa Mae was one of five children born to Harry and Ethel Henry from Sylva, NC. She loved working for over 40 years at Smith's Drug Store in Waynesville, NC and was an active member of Grandview Baptist Church. Willa Mae was married to Thomas Mills for 65 years before his death in October, 2015. Willa Mae is survived by her son Terry Mills and wife Gail of Asheville, NC, her grandson Brad Mills of Atlanta, GA and granddaughter Carly Mills of Eugene, OR. She is also survived by her brother Danny Henry and his wife Carolyn of Waynesville and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Joseph Matthew Mills in 1984. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in the hopes that a cure may be found for this devastating disease. Funeral and graveside service will be private and held at a later date.
