

She was a native of Lake Arthur, the daughter of Elair and Lucille Duhon Belair. She was a graduate of Lake Arthur High School. Carrie moved to Welsh in 1947 with her husband, Levy "Blackie" Ardoin and four children.
She became an employee of the town of Welsh as a cashier and later became city clerk. A position, she held through five different administrations. During her position as city clerk she served as a member of the Board of Directors of The Louisiana City Clerks Association. She was named Welsh citizen of the year in 1975. She was a partner in the firm of Griffith Lumber Company. After her retirement in 1982, She served several terms on the board of directors of the town of Welsh Zoning Commission.
She is survived by sons, David Ardoin and wife Faye, Ronald Ardoin and Michael Ardoin and wife Evelyn; daughter, Marguerite Swaine and husband Michael; sister, Dorothy Richard. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Levy Ardoin; her parents, Elair and Lucille Belair and her brother, Edward Belair and his wife Ann.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be George Louviere, Robert Louviere, J.B. Broussard and Richard Robertson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10a.m. Friday, October 24, 2014 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 4p.m. to 9p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh with a Rosary at 6p.m. Father Whitney Miller will officiate. Burial will be held at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Mausoleum.
