Charles R. "Charlie" Henderson Sr.

He was born June 29, 1927 in Omaha, TX. He owned and operated Henderson Implement Company with stores in Lake Charles, Welsh, Crowley, Gueydan and Abbeville and also a Construction Company specializing in the construction of metal buildings as well as a Fertilizer Company.

He is survived by his wife, Reba Hollis Henderson of Welsh; sons, Charles R. "Chuck" Henderson Jr. and wife Karen of Welsh; Randy Joe Henderson and wife Christy of Menlo Park, CA; sister-in-law, Onetha Jones of Shreveport; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Iola Norrid Henderson, parents, James Willie and Eina Mae Henderson; brother, J.W. Henderson and sister, Sarah Henderson.

His service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at First United Methodist Church of Welsh. Rev. Larry Maxwell will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh and resume Sunday 2:00 p.m. until time of service at the church. Honorary Pallbearers will be past directors of American Bank, Robert Taylor, Bill Abel, Milton Guidry and Joe Van Ness. Burial will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery.
