Rena Neuman Touchet.
David was a lifelong resident of Welsh and a devoted member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister. David proudly prayed his rosary several times every day and always sat in same pew at church. He proudly served in the United States Army. A highly skilled carpenter by trade, he built many of the homes in the surrounding area—including his own. David was well known for his storytelling and quick wit, always ready with a joke. He will be fondly remembered as a generous spirit, a devoted family man, and a faithful servant of God.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Tracy Arnold and husband Nathaniel Arnold, Donna Lyon and husband Theodore Lyon and Elizabeth Touchet and companion Caskey Worley; grandchildren, Jeremy Touchet and wife Elizabeth Touchet, Kalob Waugaman, Talon Foil, Bethany Foil, Megan Bebee, Maranda Bebee, Allison Touchet, Kathleen Touchet, and Rebecca Lamprise; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Bobby Touchet, Judy Avant and husband Johnny Avant, Theresa Cormier and husband Robert Cormier, Randy Touchet and wife Cindy, and Belinda Brown; step children, Laurie Fontenot, Leigh Bordelon and husband Mark Eris, Celina Bordelon, Elizabeth Bordelon, Aaron Bordelon, Rachel Bordelon, and Katherine Fontenot and husband Dusty; 21 step grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Diane Touchet; sons, David Touchet, Jr. and Kevin Touchet; great grandson, Sean Touchet; siblings, Ernest Touchet, Cindy McElhaney, Mary Smith, Debbie Mott, and Angela Touchet; stepchildren, Lawrence Bordelon and Forrest Bordelon.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh on Friday, September 26, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, September 27, 2025, beginning at 8:00 a.m. until the procession leaves for the church at 9:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at
Our Lady of Seven Dolors Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Touchet, Landon Touchet, Caskey Worley, Horace Leleaux, Hayden Gray, and Harlyn Mallett. Honorary pallbearer will be Kalob Waugaman,
