Harold John Louviere

He was a man of deep passions, some of which included music, nature, animals, and sometimes people. He never met a stranger, always greeted you with a genuine smile, and you couldn't help but smile back. He was well known for his hugs and being the first in line at the barbershop on Monday!

He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Watkins Louviere. Their marriage of over 57 years was an inspiration to many. He leaves behind his eight children and too many grandchildren (29) and great-grandchildren (20+) to name. His children are: William "Willie" Louviere of Sapulpa, OK, Cheryl Louviere (Joseph Squier) of Thornwell, LA, Jean Walton (Tony) of Dickinson, TX, Ramona Schexnider (Jonathan) of Lake Arthur, Ellen Meche (Forrest) of Welsh, Mary Ann Small (Charles) of Friendswood, TX, Sarah Louviere of Welsh, and Jim Louviere (Ashlyn) of Welsh. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Margaret Ellison of Welsh.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Geneva Meyer; infant sister, Mary; his brothers-in-law, Albert Ellison and Ray Meyer; and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Harold's life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Monday, November 1, 2021, at 2:00pm, with Pastor Tony Bourque officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on, Sunday, October 31, 2021, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Rosary at 6:00pm, led by the Catholic Daughters. Visitation will resume on Monday, from 11:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Thornwell Cemetery in Thornwell, LA.
