Hazel was a longtime member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, and was a loving and devoted wife, homemaker, aunt and friend. She loved gardening, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and her cat, Noonie!
Hazel was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard LeBlanc, her parents, Alphan and Annie Sonnier, brothers, Cyrus Sonnier and Edgar Veillon, and nephews, James, Charles, and Wayne Sonnier.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are a niece, Beverly Ann Sonnier Landry (Lee Adam); Godchildren: Blaine Landry, Christine Leger, and Elaine Dourghtery; special friend, Beverly Cormier; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and other extended family members from the Veillon, Sonnier, and LeBlanc families.
Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh with a Rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. and visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church with Rev. Susil Fernando officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh.
