He lived in Hayes, attended school in Hayes and retired from Calcasieu Parish as a motor grade operator.
Survivors include her sons, Luther Ray Simon and wife, Dale of Hayes, Charles Roy Simon and wife, Karen of Bell City, David John Simon of Hayes; daughter, Christina King and husband, Bobby of McCall Creek, MS; brother, Bill Simon of Hayes; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lou; daughter, Martha Gail and grandson, Calvin Joseph.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh. Father Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be in Hayes Cemetery.
