

Richard was a parishioner of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, while growing up, he attended Goretti Catholic High School, he was a member of the Honor Society and 4-H Club. Richard played football, basketball, and baseball. Upon graduating he received a Bachelor of Science degree from Notre Dame University. Richard enjoyed sports and coached city youth basketball, baseball, and football. Richard was a tremendous husband, father, coach, and friend.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 16 years; Shelby Rothrock Hebert, Welsh,
father; Richard Joseph Hebert, Sr., of Jennings, sons; Jacques Hebert, New Orleans and Maxwell Hebert, Welsh, daughters; Emily Hebert and Madeleine Hebert, both of Nashville, and Abigail Hebert, Welsh, sisters; Michelle Monceaux, Lake Charles, Anne Louise Monceaux, Cincinnati, Dionne Sharp, Atlanta, Lisa Reed, Atlanta, and Laurie Fear, Welsh.
Richard was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Louise Houck Hebert.
Visitation will commence at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon Wayne Chapman officiating. The visitation will continue on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until procession time at 9:45 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Alan Trouille as celebrate. A private committal will be conducted at a later date.
