Marie Fruge Romero, 85, formerly of Bell City, Louisiana, passed away on May 9, 2024. She was born on April 3, 1939, in Bell City, Louisiana, to Melvin and Alice Fruge'.

Rose was a loving wife and mother who dedicated her life to caring for those in her community in need of help. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Rose is survived by her sons, Henry W. Romero Jr. and Joseph N. Romero, her brother Robert Fruge', her sisters Claudia Cormier, Dale Richard, and Regina Mitchell, as well as six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry W. Romero Sr., and two brothers.

Rose attended Bell City High School and was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City, Louisiana.

The family will welcome friends for visitation at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 5pm until 8pm. Visitation will resume Friday, May 17 at 8am until time of funeral service at 10am. Burial will follow at Lorraine-Derouen Cemetery.
