

She was born on March 28, 1918 in Plattenville, LA, the daughter of Lynn J. Boudreaux and Aline Simoneaux Boudreaux. Sadie attended P.A. Capdau Elementary School in Orleans Parish then graduated from LT High School in Thibodeaux, LA in 1935. She then attended and graduated from SLI (Southwestern Louisiana Institution) in Lafayette, LA in 1938 with teaching degrees in English and French. It was at SLI that she met her future husband, Nelson Hardy. Nelson and Sadie were married in Waco, TX on February 4, 1944 shortly before Nelson was sent to France during WWII. They settled in Welsh, LA, where she began teaching 2nd grade. She continued teaching there until retirement. Sadie was an active member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church was also active in the Catholic Daughters and a member of LRTA.
Sadie was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn James Boudreaux and Aline Simoneaux Boudreaux; her husband, Nelson Hardy; her son, Michael Lynn Hardy and her brother-in-law, Louis I. “Bud” Simoneaux.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen R. Hardy, Matthew R. Hardy and wife Melanie, and Keith J. Hardy and Sharon Richard; sister, Dorothy B. Simoneaux; and grandson, Michael Ryan Hardy and wife Rene.
The family would like to thank Christus St. Patrick Hospice and Villa Maria Assisted Living for the care they provided over the past few years.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 18, from 5 to 8 pm with a rosary at 6:30 pm at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh and will resume on Friday at 12:00pm until start of service. A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Seven Dolors. Burial will follow the service at Lacassine Cemetery.
