My heart goes out to his family. I remember Shawn as a young boy. Always so kind to my son. Teaching him how to swim at Curlew Pond. My heart is breaking for his mother.

The first time I came down to Louisiana from Kentucky, Mr. Cormier and family kindly invited my brother, Sarah, and I into their home for dinner. One of the first things he asked me was “you gonna vote for Trump?” And asked me a few more times just to make sure Trump was getting all the support he could in other states, which always puts a smile on my face when I think of it. He was always very hospitable, and enjoying deer or duck that the family had hunted and prepared themselves gave a whole new meaning to supper.

My last memory of uncle Shawn was a great one. We flew down to Louisiana for a cousins wedding, and he invited us all over to his cabin and made us coffee and breakfast. It was a beautiful morning and so peaceful. I love the Cormier family so much and uncle Shawn will be missed so dearly. He was such a kind man that everyone could look up to, and he and aunt Randa raised amazing kids who I get to call my cousins.

I loved Uncle Shawn very much. I still remember all those nights Emma and I would get into “trouble” painting the walls with nail polish, calling the police by accident like 3 times, making a mess in their master bathroom. My time at the Cormier’s house growing up are some of my favorite memories. Uncle Shawn had the kindest heart and helped raise 6 amazing children who I’m lucky to call my cousins. I love y’all so much!
