Wendell Louis Richard

He was Catholic by faith and a parishioner of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Wendell was a graduate of Welsh High School. After high school, he married the love of his life, Linda. He retired from Texas Gas Company. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a former city councilman, and a Greyhound backer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Linda Davenport Richard of Welsh; sons, David L. Richard (Angie Abshire), Ben T. Richard all of Welsh and Ty C. Richard (Blanche Frey), of Roanoke, daughter, Stephanie R. Albrecht (Randy) of Welsh; brother, Luther Richard (Cheo) of Houston; sisters, Genevieve Richard Person (Noble), of Basile, Bernell Richard Fox of Welsh and Joylene Richard Minton of Welsh, thirteen grandchildren, Alexis Richard Klein (Robbie), Caleb “Bud” Richard, Wyatt Richard, Grace Richard, Anna Richard, Ashlee Richard, Koben Richard, Kaiden Richard, Bailey Carbo, McKay Hicks, McKale Hicks, Macey Hicks, Blake Albrecht and 3 great grand-grandchildren, Mia Klein, Case Klein and Londyn Klein. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Mott Richard and Louis Richard.

Pallbearers are, Pat Cooley, Glenn Vanicor, Robert Benoit, Larry Richard, Monty Person and Brandon Iguess. Honorary Pallbearers are, Lynn Richard and David Richard.

Visitation will commence on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The Rosary Recital will be at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. until procession time at 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh at 12:00 noon.
