Willia Mae Oliver, 91, of Welsh, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at the Golden Age of Welsh. She was born to her late parents, Gladue and Edith Bourque on August 29, 1929 in Vinton, LA. She enjoyed playing cards, and going to the Casino aka "North". Willia loved going camping, especially at Bundick's Lake. She was proud of her church family, and attended Our Lady of Seven Dolors whenever she was able. She enjoyed family gatherings and cooking for them, and she could never make enough gravy.
She is survived by her three sons, Paul Oliver (Kerstin) of Welsh, Ted Mays (Debra) of Dry Prong, Kelly Mays (Kimberly) of Rosepine; two daughters, Kathy McGee (Joey), Katera Trahan (Jeremy), both of Welsh; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and eleven great-great grandchildren.
Willia is preceded in death by her husbands, Julius E. Mays and Curtis "Pete" Oliver; one daughter, Barbara Boring; three brothers, Dallas Bourque, Sidney Bourque, Gladue Bourque, Jr; and three sisters, Marie Bratton, Rose Leger, and Peggy Bourque.
Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 2:00pm, with Father Alan Trouille officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Rosary led by the Catholic Daughters at 6:15pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
