

AXEL REY DE LEON, infant son of Reynaldo De Leon Jr. and Roxanna Ilissa Villalobos De Leon, was born on Monday, January 09, 2017 and was called to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 02, 2017. During his 9 months on earth, Axel Rey was an inspiration as he fought a courageous battle against cancer. He always laughed and smiled despite his illness. He was loved by everyone he met, and brought joy and happiness to all he touched. However, Axel Rey “The Fighter” lost his battle, and is now in Heaven. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings; Leila Isabella, Rey Aldo, Gabriella Ariana, paternal grandparents, Guillermo and Maricela Palacios (Donna, TX), and maternal grandparents, Guadalupe and Marissa Villalobos (Weslaco, TX), maternal great-grand fathers, Paul Trimble (Laguna Beach, CA) and Aurelio Villalobos (China, NL), as well as many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, too numerous to mention.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 05, 2017, Visitation from 1:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Highland Funeral Home, 6705 N FM 88 Weslaco, Texas 78596. A Mass will be held on Monday, November 06, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 109 S. Illinois Ave, Weslaco, TX. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, 6705 N FM 88 Weslaco, Texas 78596. Pallbearers will be Guadalupe Villalobos Jr., and Adan Ysquierdo.
The family would like to thank the staff at Doctors Hospital Renaissance (NICU/PICU) in Edinburg, TX., with a special thank you to Dr. Bertha Medina, Dr. Michael Burke, Dr. Krishna Turlapati, Dr. Narendra Singh, Dr. Ana Almeda, also to the entire Vannie E. Cook Jr. Cancer & Hematology Clinic staff in McAllen, TX., Dr. Juan Carlos Bernini, Dr. Rodrigo Erana, Dr. Dimarys Sanchez and Dr. Lorimar Ramirez. In addition, the family would like to thank Texas Children Hospital Cancer Center & Hematology Clinic in Houston, TX., with a special thank you to Dr. Lindsay Holley, and also to Only Love Hospice Care in McAllen, TX., Dr. Miendola and entire staff, for the incredible care provided to Baby Axel and to the entire family.
