George Torres Sr., age 72, of Mercedes, Texas, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at his residence in Mercedes.
Born on June 27, 1952 in McAllen, George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1974. His time in the service reflected the values he carried throughout his life—honor, integrity, and devotion to family and community.
George was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delia Torres, with whom he shared many cherished years. He will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, strong work ethic, and the warmth he brought to everyone he met. His stories, laughter, and wisdom left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 1 pm at Highland Memorial Park with military honors to follow in recognition of his faithful service to our nation.
George’s legacy of love and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
