Gonzalo Silva Rodriguez

Gonzalo Silva Rodriguez, age 94, left to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Windsor Arbor View Nursing Home in Edinburg. Gonzalo was born on January 10, 1929 to Guadalupe & Lupita Silva in Allende, Nuevo León, Mexico.

Our father was a very devoted family man throughout his life. He was the most hardworking person and the simple pleasures of life are what made him the most happy. Making friends with whoever he met was a special trait of his and he was always ready to share a joke with anyone who would lend an ear. One of his favorite things was entertaining his grandkids when they came to visit. He will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Vicenta Silva, his children Hermilo Silva (Sandra), Aurora Camina (Willie), Maria Estela Guerra (Jaime), Irma Torres (Mark), Gonzalo Silva Jr. (Alma), Armando Silva (Kimberly), Maria Guadalupe (Mary) Treviño (Florencio) and David Silva (Veronica).; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Silva is preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe Silva and Guadalupe Rodriguez and his siblings Baudilio Silva, Rafael Silva, Maria de los Angeles Sanchez, Concepcion Valdez and Raquel Guzman.

Family will receive friends Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 1 pm to 10 pm with a prayer service at 6 pm at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Graveside service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 11 am at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
