Herlinda Alonzo, age 92, of Elsa, Texas passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. Herlinda was born on March 22, 1932 in Dias Ordas Tamaulipas, MX.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jacinto Mendoza and Lucia Martinez and her daughter Maria de los Angeles Alonzo.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Juanita Juarez (Benancio), Irma Serna (Gilberto), Rosa Alonzo (Ricardo), Basilio Alonzo (Doris), Rosalinda Gomez (Donato), Virginia Diaz (Javier), Juan Diego Alonzo (Diana), one sister Virginia Pineda (Lalo). Her roots run deep as her family has grown throughout the years: 29 grandchildren, 86 great grandchildren and 27 great great grandchildren.

Herlinda enjoyed dancing, playing loteria, attending adult daycares that she loved and made great friends, but more than anything, she loved her family. Her love was the kind that made you feel seen, heard, and valued, no matter what.

Visitation for Helinda will begin on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a Talk at 7:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Highland. Visitation will continue Thursday morning from 9:00 AM, followed by the burial at 2:00 PM at Highland Memorial Park, Weslaco, Texas 78596.
