Inosencia Martinez, age 75, left to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. She was born to Rufino & Juana Avendaño on January 9, 1949 in Weslaco, Texas. Inosencia enjoyed reading and working on word puzzles. She loved to cater to her grandchildren and talking with family. She also found great pleasure in cooking, watering her plants and watching TV. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Melchor Martinez; their children: Veronica (Martin) Cortez, Juan M. Martinez; grandchildren: Esteban E. Rodriguez Jr, Alani E. Cortez, Angelina Cortez & Alysha Cortez. She will also be greatly missed by her sisters: Manuela (Reynaldo) Barbosa, Elvia (Mauro) Silva, Olivia Reyes; brother, Guadalupe (Janie) Avendaño and many nieces and nephews. Inosencia is now reunited with her mother, Juana Avendaño and sister, Maxine Irene Salinas who have preceded her in death. Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 12 pm to 10 pm with a rosary recited at 7 pm at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Funeral service will be celebrated at 10 am, Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
